This gîte has been created to provide a welcome break for all our guests. Surrounded by trees and flowers and situated just by the sea, you will find peace and quiet away from everyday stress if you have a busy lifestyle.
Children enjoy the fresh air and freedom to run around safely. Les Pieds Dans l’Eau is also an idyllic location for a romantic break or for artists in search of inspiration. Or for those enjoying their retirement. Here you will find peace and quiet, hearing only the sea and the birds. Lie on a lounger in the garden or sit in a comfortable armchair behind the bay window listening to your music. Children can safely run around in the garden, play on the swings, go for a swim or look for seashells on the beach.
For those who like walking or trekking, the gîte is ideally situated on the GR34 path, which follows the coastline. Ploubazlanec sits on the rugged coast facing the isle of Bréhat. All the paths lead to amazing views : sea, moors and forests.
If you are interested in the local culture, Pierre Loti, who wrote "Pêcheur d'Islande", guides you around Paimpol, a lovely harbour town which used to be home to the ships bound for Iceland to fish for cod. You will discover the local history at the Museum of the Sea, the Museum of Breton Costumes and various exhibitions. The region has a rich past which you can discover by visiting the many chapels, calvaries, castles, manorhouses, abbeys and watermills dotted around Brittany. You can also visit beautiful gardens, such as Kerdalo.
There's plenty of fresh seafood to enjoy and the gîte has its own barbecue. If you prefer to eat out, you will find many delightful restaurants within a 2 km radius: local crêpes and galettes, chargrilled meats, fresh fish, seafood, and gourmet food prepared by great chefs in a welcoming atmosphere. There's something for everyone and every budget.
For those in search of entertainment, the Chants de Marins festival takes over Paimpol every other summer and the old riggings come from far and wide to take part. The Fest Noz (traditional Breton song and dance accompanied by live music) are another popular attraction. At Beauport, abbey from the 13th Century, there is story-telling by night. Or you can take a steam train from Paimpol to Guingamp, a local market town, catching stunning views of the Trieux river.
Many different activities are available to all: swimming, diving, fishing, sailing, cycling, tennis, horse-riding, and after a full day out, the gîte offers a warm welcome. As night falls, the lights of Paimpol start shimmering across the bay.
After you go home, the cleaning will be done for you at the end of your stay.
(Further information about the local area is available in the gîte and at the local Tourist Information Centre in Paimpol).
